June 2017 Results
If re-sit is indicated anywhere on your online results, it means you’ve failed to meet the academic requirements for progression to the next stage of your course. However, all is not lost as you’ve been given the opportunity to re-sit the failed elements of assessment during the summer break. If you pass all your re-sit assessments it’s likely you’ll be eligible to progress to the next stage of your course.
Please remember that re-sit work is marked out of 100 but the overall mark which will appear on your results will be capped at 40%. Re-sits and re-sit examinations are usually undertaken during August and it is your responsibility to ensure you know and attempt the correct re-sit assessment.
How do I find my re-sit brief?
Assessment briefs will be uploaded to Blackboard and it’s up to you to make sure you access the site in a timely manner giving yourself enough time to complete and submit the required work.
- Log onto Blackboard
- Select the Organisations tab at the top of the page
- Select Cardiff Campus resits
- All re-sit briefs are located in relevant folders by module code
The assessment brief will indicate how you are to submit the re-sit work and this must be adhered to.
If you have a re-sit for a Law, Accounting or Finance course based in Atlantic House, your re-sit brief will be available on the relevant module page.
When is the deadline for work to be submitted and how do I submit it?
Work must be submitted no later than 4pm, 2 August 2017. The assessment brief will indicate how you are to submit the re-sit work.
Online submissions – Where possible, work should be submitted online (e.g. Turn it In, Blackboard etc) and details of this will be on your resit brief.
Physical submissions – In some instances, where it is not possible to submit online, you may be required to submit directly to the Cardiff Advice Zone. In this instance, you must submit your work with a personalised barcoded coversheet. This is available under Hot Links on your home page on Blackboard. Our guide How do I find my coversheet , will show you how to find this. This coversheet will contain a barcode which is unique to you. (you will be unable to use another student’s coversheet).
Please note that the opening hours for the Advice Zone during the summer are between 10am & 4pm Monday to Friday. We will be unable to accept coursework outside of these hours.
Please ensure you check your re-sit brief for submission arrangements. Submissions by email will not be accepted. Don’t forget you can submit work earlier but not later than this time.
What if I have to re-sit an exam?
The re-sit examination period will run from 3 August to 11 August 2017 . If you have to re-sit an examination then please visit the Examination Information for Students pages.
Assessment brief queries
The Module Leader/Tutor will have set the re-sit brief so please contact them directly in the first instance. Otherwise, we would recommend you contact your Course Leader.
Please remember, staff don’t have the same holiday as you, but they do need to take annual leave during the summer break. So once you read the brief if you have some questions or need help, contact your Module Tutor immediately.
When will re-sit results be made available?
Results from any re-sit assessments undertaken will be available online on 5 September 2017.
